If you’ve seen my Return On Time Invested presentation, here’s all the supporting stuff. If you haven’t seen the presentation, may I suggest hiring me to speak at your next marketing event?
The Deck
First, the slides (latest version is February, 2025):
Me, Me, Me
It’s all about me. Before you get to the interesting stuff you have to suffer through all my social profiles, related writings, etc.
I wrote an article about Return On Time Invested. I promise it will provide a high return on time invested.
I also made a list of plague words that always reduce R.O.T.I.
Get in touch! I’m always happy to answer questions. Or, scroll through this section really fast to get to the good stuff.

Using Squoosh.app to compress images
Here’s a quick walkthru video for the Squoosh.app compression tool. Recorded sober, even though it may not sound like it:
Tools
When optimizing for return on time invested, I use lots of tools. These are my favorites:
- Squoosh.app for image compression
- Optimage.app lets you compress images in bulk. Be sure to check quality, though!
- Caesium is another good bulk image compressor (for Windows).
- Check My Links Chrome extension to make sure my links work. Nothing worse than broken links, am I right?
- Grammarly has saved me from all kinds of grammatical horrors and helped me become a better writer
- I have a love-hate relationship with Hemingwayapp, but it’s useful when I need to be brief
- Poe is my choice when I want to use multiple AI tools. It lets me prompt ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and others all from one window
Prompts
In Google Docs format: Generate an outline for a blog post about wedding photographers.
Write an apology to my cat:
Write an apology email to a cat. The cat just had $3000 in dental work. She's wearing a cone, and her teeth hurt. She's really mad. Please highlight how important this is for her health, the fact that she will get the cone off in two weeks, and that she is going to get lots of treats and her favorite food, and lots of brushing, plus the dog isn't allowed upstairs until she feels better. Please write using no higher than 6th-grade English.
Other prompts, in text file format. It’s on Github, which looks scary, but it’s just a list of files. Click on any of them to see the prompt. View them here.
